One Million Coins Beginner Guide
Two community routes favor early chutes and deposit upgrades, then a portable bank and enough bag capacity to avoid filling constantly. This is an opening strategy to consider, not a proven best build for version 1.2.
I compared two Steam guides side by side instead of inventing a build. One starts with a single chute point and three deposit points. The other names Wall Chutes, Quick Deposit, Two at a Time, Efficient Delivery, then Pocket Bank. They agree on the bank. They do not agree on a unique best node, so I will not pretend there is one.
Opening upgrade priorities
The guides agree on reducing manual banking but diverge on later collection tools. These stages are not measured minute marks. Update 1.2 reworked pocket-bank skills and removed the first-run proficiency cap.
| Stage | Consider | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| First points | Chutes and deposit upgrades | Assuming all columns need equal early spending |
| Early automation | Portable bank near an active pile | Copying a pre-1.2 bank stat without checking |
| Capacity bottleneck | Bag capacity and Pump | Continuing to gather with a full bag |
| Moving between piles | Reposition the portable bank | Leaving it on an empty patch |
| Achievement cleanup | One mastery per branch | Treating a branch mastery as the vault-clear requirement |
Bag, magnet, and chute
These three are the decision people search for. The answer depends on the minute, not on a permanent ranking.
| Tool | Job | Common miss |
|---|---|---|
| Chute | Moves coins without a walk. 1.1 made this a 25-point support lane. | Treating it as the whole build |
| Bag | Holds the haul between banks. Capacity is the early limiter. | Buying strikes while the bag is always full |
| Magnet | Pulls coins in an area. Stronger once coins are loose. | Buying it before anything banks itself |
Is there a respec?
Some English reviews say a purchase felt permanent. The 1.1 note says upgrades no longer lock other paths. It does not say you can refund a point. Until someone publishes a reset control, treat “locked forever” as a player report, not as a confirmed rule.
Questions
Should I save coins in the bag?
The guides say no. Bank or let a chute and portable bank take them. A full bag stops the run.
