How to Play One Million Coins
Collect coins, carry them to a deposit machine, and bank them toward the 1,000,000-coin goal. Use proficiency points to unlock upgrades and automate more of the work. A coin in your bag is not yet a deposited coin.
The early Steam screenshot shows Perfect Grip +20, Two-Handed Grip 0.1s, bag 60/136, and proficiency 1. Those are visible HUD examples, not a complete tutorial or proof of an unlock prerequisite. The opening advice below is attributed community strategy, not a playthrough tested by this site.
Six steps from the first coin
The labels below are visible in Steam screenshots. Node numbers that are not on a screenshot are marked as community notes.
- Grab the first handful. The HUD adds a collected bonus and a bag fraction.
- Bank at the machine. One screenshot shows Banking 0.3s and Total Deposited.
- Put the first points into a chute or deposits. Community guides start with one chute point, then deposits.
- Place the portable bank when you have it. The preview text is “Release to place.”
- Raise bag capacity before you buy flashy strikes. A full bag is idle time.
- Use grab skills and auto deposit later. A late screenshot shows a bag around 600,000.
Opening priorities, without invented time splits
BigButters describes a 1.1 route; the 33 min guide supplies a second upgrade order. Neither establishes universal first-30-minute milestones. Version 1.2 reworked pocket-bank skills, so old values may not apply to a new run.
| Stage | Aim | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| First deposits | Learn the bag and deposit counters | Keep collected and deposited totals distinct |
| First upgrades | Community routes favor chutes and deposit upgrades | The route version may differ from your save |
| Portable bank | Place it near the coins you are working on | Reposition it when you move away |
| Growing capacity | Avoid a constantly full bag | Increase depositing alongside gathering |
| Later abilities | Add a collection ability and automation | Do not copy an old multiplier as a current stat |
BigButters reports 30 coins per second, up to 150 per second, for the 1.1 portable bank. The freshly retrieved guide does not establish the previously quoted +3-per-1,000 scaling or 12 m radius; those figures are not repeated here.
The vault is several piles
The same guide describes about five piles: middle, top (opposite the elevator), left, right beyond the rail, and the elevator. The advice is to hit them from above rather than tunneling in from the side. I can see separate piles in the wide shots; I cannot confirm the five names from the screenshots alone, so treat the names as that guide’s map.
Questions
What do I press?
Use the bindings shown in your current game settings. The 33 min community guide specifically mentions a right-click ability and Chute Overdrive; bindings were not tested here.
Did 1.2 change the opening?
Yes. The full 1.2 notes remove the first-run proficiency cap and rework some pocket-bank skills. Earlier routes are historical guidance, not tested 1.2 instructions.
